Dear faithful readers –
When I started this blog on a crazy, goofy whim in 2009, I never imagined where my life was going to go. I’ve read over a thousand books since then and I had hoped to wind the blog down around book 1,000 – a lovely round number moment to roll back my review writing. I didn’t quite make it, though: the last year has been a tough one for all kinds of reasons and things came to a more natural taper and conclusion a little earlier than I’d planned. (The eagle-eyed among you will notice that I haven’t posted a review since early summer 2017.)
And so we’ve come to an obvious conclusion: Raging Biblioholism is, for the time being, done. I’m so thankful to all of you who read this blog, who commented, who shared and I’m so thankful to the authors and literary folks whose work quite literally fueled this labor of love. It has been such a fucking joy and I loved doing it, even when I was banging out three reviews a week and wondering how the hell I was going to keep this up.
I’m still out there, of course, and still reading. The site will stay up, as will the Twitter account. But if you want to catch my thoughts on what to read now, swing by So Many Damn Books – a podcast that wouldn’t exist, were it not for starting this blog all those years ago. Or find me on Twitter @drewsof. Or find me in New York, doing any number of things – but almost definitely with a book in hand, regardless of what I’m supposed to be doing.
And keep on reading and writing, friends. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Love,
Drew
